How do tram-line streets in Carlton or Fitzroy affect a move?
Tram tracks narrow the road and limit where a truck can stop. Parking is often permit-only, and clearway times can apply. We check the street rules and the best loading position before the day so the crew is not left waiting for a spot.
Is a terrace move in the inner suburbs more expensive than a house move further out?
Not necessarily. The carry from the front door is harder in a terrace with narrow hallways and steps, but the drive time is shorter. A large house in an outer suburb may need a bigger truck and a longer drive. We quote both separately so you can see where the hours go.
Which freeway does an interstate load from Melbourne take?
Sydney and Canberra go north on the Hume. Adelaide goes west on the Western Freeway. Geelong runs down the Princes. The route depends on the destination, and we plan the delivery day from there.
Can you move a pool table from a Melbourne home?
Yes. Pool tables are quoted as their own item because they need to be partially disassembled and require extra hands. Tell us the size, the room it is in and the access to the street, and we bring the right crew and gear.
How much notice do I need for a weekend or end-of-month move in Melbourne?
Two to three weeks is ideal, especially for end-of-month and long weekends when the whole city is moving at once. Shorter notice works if a truck is available. Call and we will tell you which dates are open.
What if the lift in my CBD apartment is too small for a large piece of furniture?
Some CBD buildings have a furniture-sized service lift that is booked separately from the passenger lift. If the lift cannot fit the item, we plan a stair carry and quote the extra time. Give us the building name and the floor when you ask for a quote.
