Point Cook Removalists

Hourly moves across Point Cook, from Sanctuary Lakes to the freeway.

Sixty thousand residents and counting

Point Cook had fewer than 2,000 people in 2001. It now has more than 66,000, and most of the housing went up in the last two decades. That growth means streets of similar-looking homes, double garages with narrow side gates, and estates such as Sanctuary Lakes, Featherbrook and Alamanda that each have their own street layout and parking rules. Our Point Cook removalists work these estates regularly and quote every job on the actual access at both ends, charged by the hour.

The supervisor on the truck checks access, plans the loading order and calls what needs wrapping and what comes apart. The crew takes beds and dining tables apart and puts them back together at the new address.

Point Cook Road and the four freeway exits

Point Cook Road is the main artery in and out, and at peak hour it backs up from the Princes Freeway interchange south through to Boardwalk Boulevard. Forsyth Road, Palmers Road and the newer Sneydes Road interchange give the truck alternatives, and we plan the route before the day so the crew is not sitting in traffic on the clock.

Inside the suburb, the streets are mostly flat and wide enough for a large truck, but the blocks are narrow. Where the garage fills the entire frontage, the carry runs down the side of the house through a gate, which adds time. Along Dunnings Road and Sommersby Road near the southern end, the streets loop through the estates and a truck that misses a turn has a long way around. We factor all of that into the quote after you tell us the addresses.

Protecting furniture for the drive

Before the truck moves off, all furniture is wrapped in blankets and plastic, then strapped so nothing shifts on the drive. The Princes Freeway runs flat and straight from Point Cook, but the strapping keeps everything locked in place whether the load is going to Werribee or interstate to Sydney. Fridges and washing machines ride upright, braced against the truck wall.

Our crews are trained by us. The supervisor on the truck owns the plan for the day, from the first piece loaded to the last box placed at the new address. Local rates start from $75 per half hour for a two-person crew and a 20 cubic metre truck, and the full list by truck size is on our removalist prices page.

Removalist planning a move with paperwork

Packing, storage and leaving Victoria

If you want packing done as well, our team works through the kitchen, wardrobes and fragile items the day before, with boxes, paper and tape supplied. Sealed, labelled boxes stack faster on the truck and keep the hours down on moving day.

Settlement dates that do not line up are not a problem. Your furniture stays in our climate-controlled storage facility under 24/7 surveillance, and we deliver once the keys come through. Every move runs under public liability and transit insurance. For an interstate move, Point Cook is already south of the Princes Freeway, so the truck heads east to the Hume for Sydney and Canberra, or west toward Geelong and Adelaide. A dedicated truck gets a firm delivery day, or a shared truck is priced on the space your load uses.

Your Point Cook quote starts here

Send us the two addresses, the number of bedrooms and anything heavy or awkward such as a piano, pool table or a big fridge. Let us know about stairs, lifts, a long side-gate carry or a tight driveway. We come back with a price and a truck size, and you can try the calculator below to check the volume yourself. There is no cost for the quote and no obligation to book.

Because the price follows the hours, a move that is ready saves money. Boxes packed and sealed, drawers emptied, paths cleared, and a parking spot saved for the truck on the street. Williams Landing station is nearby if you need to get across town after the truck leaves, and Laverton and Aircraft stations on the Werribee line are also close. Call 1300 724 553 or use the contact form.

The crew behind your Point Cook move

Quoted on the actual job

Hourly rates set by the truck and crew your move needs, quoted once we know the access at both ends. The price follows the work, not a guess.

A supervisor on every truck

One person on the crew runs the day, sets the loading order and makes the calls on what gets wrapped, what comes apart and what goes on last.

Wrapped and strapped for the road

Every item is wrapped in blankets and plastic and strapped in the truck, whether the drive is to Williams Landing or interstate.

Packing done by room

Our packing team labels every box by room so the crew at the new address knows where each one goes without asking.

Point Cook moving questions

Removalist carefully wrapping an item in blankets

How do you handle the congestion on Point Cook Road on moving day?

We plan the route before the day and use Forsyth Road, Palmers Road or the Sneydes Road interchange if Point Cook Road is backed up at peak hour. The crew knows the alternative exits and adjusts the start time if you want to avoid the worst of the morning traffic. Less time sitting in traffic means fewer hours on the clock.

Can you reach the houses in Sanctuary Lakes where the streets loop back?

Yes. The streets through Sanctuary Lakes curve and loop, so a wrong turn means a long way around. Our crews know the estate layout and plan the approach before the day. The streets are wide enough for a large truck in most sections, but the loop roads mean we confirm the parking spot in advance.

Which freeway exit do your trucks use to get into Point Cook?

It depends on which part of the suburb. Point Cook Road and Forsyth Road interchanges cover the northern end, Palmers Road handles the middle, and the Sneydes Road interchange serves the southern estates closer to the RAAF base and the Coastal Park. We pick the exit that gets the truck closest to the address without crossing through peak-hour traffic.

Do you move single heavy items like a fridge or washing machine from Point Cook?

Yes. Pianos, pool tables, fridges and single large items are quoted as their own job with the right crew and gear. Tell us the item, where it sits in the house and whether there are stairs or a narrow side gate, and we plan the carry around it.

Can I book a Saturday or Sunday move in Point Cook?

Yes. We move homes and offices seven days a week. Weekend moves in Point Cook can be easier because Point Cook Road and the freeway interchanges are quieter, which keeps the hours down.

Can your trucks access the narrow streets inside Featherbrook and Alamanda?

Yes. Both estates have looping internal streets and narrow frontages where the garage fills the block width. The crew plans the approach before the day and we send a truck that fits the turning circles. In Featherbrook, the carry often runs down a side gate, so the supervisor checks the gate width and path length before loading begins.

When I contacted Rene from Careful Hands, nothing was too much trouble. She was professional, efficient, and easy to deal with. On a moving day, Jordan and his colleague Evan were excellent. They were on time, wrapped and looked after our furniture, and did an excellent job getting it down a challenging staircase. Jordan, in particular, was friendly and energetic and made our move so much easier! We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs a good-quality and professional removalist. Thank you.
