Removalists Albion
Hourly removals built around Albion's tight streets and small lots.

Worker-cottage lots and what they mean for your move
Much of Albion was laid out as housing for the Sunshine Harvester Works, and the streets still show it. Lots are small, front setbacks are short, and driveways between the older cottages off Ballarat Road and Anderson Road barely fit a car, let alone a truck. Our Albion removalists ask about the access at both ends before we quote, because the truck size and crew that suit a weatherboard cottage near Forrest Street are not the same ones you need for a newer townhouse backing onto Kororoit Creek.
Every local move is charged by the hour. Tell us the rooms, the heavy pieces and the two addresses, and we put together a truck and crew to match. Local rates start from $75 per half hour for a two-person crew and a 20 cubic metre truck, and the full list by truck size is on our removalist prices page. A supervisor runs every job, plans the loading sequence and makes sure each item is protected before it goes on the truck.

Narrow streets between Sunshine and Ardeer
Albion is hemmed in by Sunshine on three sides and Ardeer across Kororoit Creek to the west, so most moves go through one of the same few exits: Ballarat Road north, Anderson Road east toward Sunshine station, or south along Forrest Street into Braybrook. On a weekday morning the main roads are busy with trucks from the industrial pockets around Sunshine, and a large removal truck parked in a narrow residential street can block traffic. We plan the arrival time and the truck size around this, and where a full-size truck cannot park close we send a smaller one so the crew is carrying furniture rather than walking it down the street.
Beds, dining tables and wardrobes are taken apart before they leave the house and reassembled once the crew reaches the other end. All furniture goes into blankets and plastic wrap and is strapped tight so nothing shifts during the drive.

Interstate from Melbourne’s western corridor
Albion sits right on the western corridor, so an interstate load does not have to fight its way across town. A truck heading to Adelaide or the Geelong direction picks up Ballarat Road and is on the Western Ring Road in minutes. Melbourne to Sydney and Brisbane loads reach the M1 just as quickly. We run two options: a dedicated truck with an agreed delivery day, or a shared backload where you pay only for the space your furniture uses.
When there is a gap between leaving one place and getting into the next, your goods go into our climate-controlled facility with 24/7 surveillance until you are ready. We carry public liability and transit insurance on every move, local or interstate.

Packing help and boxes for Albion moves
The older cottages in Albion often have small rooms and tight hallways, which makes staging boxes harder. If you would rather not pack the kitchen and the wardrobes yourself, we send a packing team the day before with boxes, paper and tape. They label every box by room so the crew at the other end knows where each one goes without asking.
If you are packing yourself, sealed and labelled boxes load faster and keep the hours down on the day. We sell boxes in several sizes, plus paper and tape, so everything is ready when the truck arrives.

Book a free quote for your Albion move
List the two addresses, the bedroom count, anything heavy or awkward like a piano or pool table, and whether stairs or a tight driveway feature at either end. We send back a truck size and a price. The calculator below helps you estimate volume before you call. No charge for the quote and no obligation to go ahead.
The less the crew has to do on the day, the fewer hours you pay for. Packing boxes the night before, emptying drawers, holding a parking spot near the front door and clearing paths through the house all shorten the clock. Ring 1300 724 553 to talk it through, or drop a message on the contact form and we will reply the same day.

Albion moving questions

Can a large truck fit in the streets off Ballarat Road?
Some of them, yes, but the older residential streets between Ballarat Road and Forrest Street are narrow and have cars parked on both sides. We check the access before we quote and send a truck that can park close to the front door. If a full-size truck will block the street, a smaller one keeps the crew moving rather than carrying furniture a long way.
How do you quote a move from a small Albion cottage?
By the hour. You tell us the number of rooms, the bulky items and both addresses, including whether there are stairs or a tight driveway, and we pick the truck and crew. A two-bedroom cottage on a short lot is a different job from a four-bedroom townhouse backing onto Kororoit Creek, and the quote reflects that.
Which route does an interstate load take out of Albion?
Albion is on the western corridor, so a truck heading to Adelaide picks up Ballarat Road to the Western Ring Road. Loads going to Sydney or Brisbane reach the M1 the same way. That means the truck does not have to cross the city, which saves time and keeps the cost down.
Do you dismantle beds and tables as part of the move?
Yes. Beds, dining tables and wardrobes are taken apart at the old place and put back together at the new one as part of the job. The crew brings the tools and knows which pieces need to come apart to fit through the narrow hallways in Albion’s older houses.
Can I get boxes and packing materials from you?
Yes. We sell moving boxes in several sizes, plus paper and tape. If you would rather have someone else do the packing, we send a team the day before who pack and label everything by room so the crew on moving day knows exactly where each box goes.
