Removalists Frankston

Local and interstate moves between the bay and Olivers Hill, quoted by the hour.

From the bay to Olivers Hill

Frankston stretches from the flat waterfront blocks along Port Phillip up to the steep streets of Olivers Hill, so no two moves here start the same way. A unit near the station sits at ground level with parking out front, but a house on Olivers Hill can mean a narrow driveway that drops a storey from the road. Our Frankston removalists ask about both addresses before we quote, match a truck to the access and price the move by the hour.

Every crew has a supervisor who plans the load and manages the day. Beds and tables are taken apart and reassembled at the new address. Local rates start from $75 per half hour for a two-person crew and a 20 cubic metre truck, and the full list by truck size is on our removalist prices page.

Frankston’s neighbourhoods and the streets between them

Karingal and Frankston Heights are suburban estates with wide streets and double driveways, so a large truck can usually park right outside. Frankston Central is tighter, with units stacked near the station and a mix of metered and clearway parking. Down near the beach and along Kananook Creek the lots are narrower, and there is often no footpath room for a ramp.

We carry trucks in several sizes. For a unit where the big truck will block the street, sending a smaller one saves time and keeps the hourly cost lower. If the building has a loading dock or a shared lift, let us know the booking times and we work around them.

Removalist wrapping furniture in blankets before loading

Wrapping, packing and everything in between

Every piece of furniture is wrapped in blankets and plastic before it goes on the truck. Lounges, fridges and washing machines are strapped so nothing shifts on the freeway or on the hill streets around Mount Erin. Our crews are trained by us, and public liability and transit insurance covers every move.

If you want the packing handled, we send a team the day before with boxes, paper and tape. They work room by room and label every carton, so at the new address the kitchen boxes end up in the kitchen.

Interstate loads and between-move storage

Frankston sits at the southern end of EastLink. An interstate load heads north to the Monash Freeway, then picks up the Hume for Sydney and Canberra or the Western Ring Road for Adelaide. If you are heading to Sydney, you can book a truck just for your household with a set delivery day, or save by sharing one with another Melbourne family and paying for the space your furniture fills.

If your new place is not ready, we keep your furniture in our climate-controlled storage facility, monitored around the clock, and deliver when you have the keys. That gap can be a few days between settlements or several months while you renovate in Frankston East.

Getting a quote for Frankston

Tell us where you are moving from and to, how many rooms, and anything oversized such as a piano or pool table. Let us know about stairs or a long walk from the truck. We come back with a price and a truck recommendation, and the volume calculator below can help you estimate. Quotes are free and obligation-free.

Because the price follows the hours, the faster we can work the lower the bill. Pack your boxes tight, empty the drawers and save a spot near the front door for the truck, and the crew hits the ground running. Call 1300 724 553 or fill in the contact form.

Why Frankston households book us

Hourly rates, quoted up front

The rate depends on the truck and crew. We quote after checking the access at Olivers Hill, Karingal or wherever you are, so the number is firm before you book.

Wrapped and strapped for every street

Every item is wrapped in blankets and plastic and strapped before the truck moves, whether the route is flat through Karingal or steep around Mount Erin.

A supervisor on every crew

One person on the truck runs the loading plan, checks every item on and off, and makes sure the move is done properly from start to finish.

Packing done the day before

Our packers wrap glassware and artwork, label every box by room and have the house ready so the crew walks in and loads straight onto the truck.

Questions about moving in Frankston

How do you handle the steep driveways on Olivers Hill?

Most Olivers Hill properties sit below road level, with driveways that drop steeply and curve. We send a truck that can reverse in safely, and where the driveway is too narrow or steep, we park on the road above and trolley down. Knowing the gradient before the day lets us quote the right crew.

Is there room for a truck near the units along Kananook Creek?

The streets south of Kananook Creek are narrow and parking is limited, especially in the blocks closer to the beach. We check the access beforehand, and if the big truck will not fit we send a smaller one. A tighter truck sometimes means a second trip, but it is faster than a long carry.

Can you move a piano out of a house in Frankston Heights?

Yes. Pianos and pool tables need extra crew members and specialist equipment, so they are priced as a separate job. Frankston Heights driveways are usually wide enough for our trolley, so the main question is stairs or a split-level entry. Tell us the type and location and we work out the crew.

Do you move people down to the Mornington Peninsula as well?

Yes, we run moves across the Mornington Peninsula. Frankston is the gateway, so the same crew can pick up here and deliver to Mornington, Mount Martha or Rosebud in one trip. The hourly rate covers loading, the drive and unloading at the destination.

What if settlement dates do not line up on my Frankston move?

We keep your furniture in our climate-controlled storage facility with 24-hour monitoring and deliver once the new place is ready. That gap can be a couple of days or several months if you are renovating a place in Frankston East before you move in.
